  • Jun 26, 2023Tradewind is currently working with a Primary School in Werribee, looking for a F-6 Music Teacher/Performing Arts teacher contract beginning Term 3 with ongoing opportunities into the new year. This role is Full time, but can be made into 4 days a week.


The successful applicants will possess the relevant qualifications for the position and be currently registered or in the process of obtaining registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

The School:
Established in 2011, the Primary School in Werribee, Melbourne, is a vibrant learning institution.

With modern facilities located in the Wyndham Park Precinct, the school prioritizes the development of strong Literacy and Numeracy skills.

The school has 19 classes across four learning communities, including multi-age grade structures for Years 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6. Additionally, specialist programs in Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Physical Education, and Spanish.

The school's holistic and trauma-informed approach to well-being and inclusion fosters social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Student voice and agency are encouraged. The diverse student body represents various cultural backgrounds, including Sudanese, Arabic, Maori, Tongan, Asian, Indigenous, and Anglo-Saxon cultures.

To support students and families, the school has a robust English as an Additional Language (EAL) program.

A team of multicultural educational aides, an EAL teacher, and a Community Hub Coordinator work collaboratively to strengthen home-school partnerships and create a welcoming environment.


  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaboratively plan and evaluate the curriculum to achieve specific outcomes in Music/Performing Arts for Grade F-
  • Provide consistent and coherent learning programs that will foster independence, challenge, and learning progression.
  • Maintain positive, professional, and supportive interactions with parents, staff, and the wider College community.
  • Work as a cooperative member of the collaborative yearlevel team, ensuring harmonious relationships

Key Qualities:

  • Experience in Primary teaching advantageous particularly in Music/Performing Arts
  • Plan, prepare, and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to engage in critical reflection and inquiry in order to improve knowledge and skills to effectively engage students and improve their learning.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Australian Curriculum as relevant to the position.
  • A passion for engaging every student and demonstrated ability to bring out the best in them.
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching at relevant levels.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent
  • Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
  • Full Australian working rights
