The Wellington Park Management Trust is the governing body for Wellington Park, an 18,011 ha reserve surrounding Greater Hobart, including the famous kunanyi / Mount Wellington, one of Tasmania's top natural attractions.

The Trust oversees the protection of the park's natural and cultural assets in accordance with the Wellington Park Act. Managing the park is intricate due to its 14 land tenures and various landowners and managers.

Comprised of representatives from City of Hobart, Glenorchy City Council, Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service, Dept of Natural Resources and Environment, TasWater, and Tourism Tasmania, the Trust plays a pivotal role in strategic planning and regulatory compliance.

As the General/Business Unit Manager, your primary responsibility is to lead the Trust during a phase of change and revitalization. You will be involved in the review of the Wellington Park Management Plan and exploration of new management approaches to enhance park outcomes, necessitating extensive stakeholder interaction and prompt execution of statutory duties.

Reporting directly to the Chair, the role demands expertise in parks and reserves management, statutory land use planning, and engaging with stakeholders. Previous experience in leadership roles emphasizing strategic planning, project implementation, and stakeholder alignment will be advantageous.

This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a close-knit team of three technical professionals to drive forward the vision for Wellington Park.
