This is a
contract position that starts as soon as possible until 30 June 2024 with possible 2x12 month extension options.

This role is open to Australian citizens
with the ability to obtain
AGSVA NV1 security clearance. Location of work is at the Client's National Office in Canberra.

The Patching Coordinator will report to the IT Infrastructure Assurance Team Lead, will assist the team lead to manage the day-to
- day matters relating to the assurance control, review and perform security patching of the Client's systems, and in compliance of the Client systems, to mandated security controls. This role is responsible for undertaking very complex and/or sensitive work, under broad direction, utilising expertise across a range of activities relating to IT Service Management.

The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Working as part of a small team to manage the assurance and integrity of Client systems
  • Liaising with the Client Cyber Security and Third-Party Vendors for the implementation of required patches
  • Contributing to the documentation of the Client systems
  • Participating and coordinating regular scanning and testing of the Client's ICT environment.
The Client's IT Infrastructure Section is also responsible for the management and problem resolution of the agency's ICT infrastructure, including:

  • ICT on-prem and cloud networks
  • File storage and management
  • Database administration
  • Software delivery

Mandatory Key Personnel Expertise:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in patching, testing, and maintaining an enterprise sized ICT environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in identifying, and documenting, components of systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage work hours and schedules to support maintenance activities around core business hours.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in successfully managing and delivering results within time restraints and with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of risk management principles and processes in context of security patch management.
  • Knowledge and experience in cyber security assurance, including assurance activities and reporting with respect to the Australian Cyber Security Centre's (ACSC) Essential Eight (E8) and associated E8 Maturity Model.
  • Ability to communicate with influence and manage stakeholder relationships.
