Details

: The Parks and Conservation Service (PCS) is responsible for the management of the ACT's conservation estate including Nature Reserves, National Parks, commercial softwood forests and rural lands. The Parks and Conservation Service implements a broad range of natural and cultural resource management programs both on and off reserve that support sustainable environmental, wildlife and heritage outcomes. The Ranger in Charge for Googong Foreshores is based out of the Googong works depot and has land management responsibilities for Googong Foreshores reserve, Kowen Forest and Molonglo Gorge/ Kowen Escarpment. The position reports to the Area Manager for Urban Reserves south who is based out of Athllon Depot, and supervises a small team of Park Rangers and Field Officers working on a rostered shift pattern.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

Essential:

Registration under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is mandatory for this position. Manual Drivers licence

Desirable

Relevant qualifications and experience in environmental and/or natural resource management Experience undertaking incident management duties including participation in fire standby, suppression and training.
