(AM- 7.15am to 3pm, PM 2.45pm to 9.30pm)

$26.48- $28.30 p/hr base (depending on skills/experience)

+ 10.5% Superannuation + not for profit packaging

MiCare Avondrust Lodge is a state of the art facility which was purpose built with both Elders and Staff in mind, to ensure effective Person Centred Care.


It has small beautiful households of 12 Elders each, with excellent ratios of 1:6 or less which enables carers to achieve best outcomes for the Elders.

Social and therapeutic alliances are formed as staff bond with Elders in their households. Staff and Elders get to know each other well. Elders share their wisdom. Staff become proud advocates of these dear members of the household, to continue giving outstanding care.

About the role...


We are looking for an experienced and qualified Personal Care Assistant for our brand new Residential Aged Care Facility in Carrum Downs.

Achieve work/life balance by working closer to home and trade the busyness of the city for a more idyllic suburban pace.

Our ideal incumbent will thrive on building strong rapport with our valuable elders and their families, delivering over and above quality care by supporting their daily care needs, completing vital documentation and being a strong contributor to a passionate team


In a role with plenty of variety, your experience, motivation, flexibility and collaborative approach to quality service delivery will be highly regarded.

Memory support experience preferred.

About you...
You will have a flexible, caring, patient attitude and an ability to work in a professional and proficient manner.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Cert III (Aged Care)
  • Cert IV (Aged Care) highly advantageous but not essential

Skills:

  • The ability to work with frail and/or confused elders and their families within the Accreditation Standards and funding guidelines
  • The ability to accept direction and to work in a team environment with mínimal supervision
  • The ability or willingness to speak/learn Dutch and an understanding of the Dutch culture and history
  • The ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner within an ethnospecific environment
  • Basic knowledge of the ageing process
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills
  • Recognise own abilities and level of competence
  • To have a basic knowledge of Work Health and Safety procedures

A police check with no disclosable outcome, medicare evidence of current influenza and COVID-19 vaccination is required by MiCare for this position.

A commitment to work exclusively with MiCare Residential Aged Care facility as your only employer during COVID-19 will be highly regarded.
