The Role


The Business Support Lead will be an integral member of the Open Space and Buildings Maintenance Unit and provide executive support to assist the unit manager and team members in delivery of their key business functions.

This position will enhance the ability of the team to successfully deliver a customer focused approach and support more efficient processes for day to day operations.

This opportunity will be offered on a Permanent full time basis

  • The salary range for this opportunity commences at $113,309 per annum + 10.5% super

Your duties in this role will include:

  • Work with the Business Improvement Unit and team members to integrate process improvement and implementation of technology into unit
  • Share learnings, raise issues and actively contribute to identification, development and implementation of business and process improvement initiatives.
  • Optimise available technology to improve service delivery.
  • Analyse and evaluate service improvement requests or ideas, trends or keeping up to day with industry practise.
  • Contribute to presentations, papers and reports, by undertaking research, information and data gathering, data analysis, drafting and editing;
  • Monitor and evaluate performance towards Unit goals and objectives.
  • Assist the Manager to identify, prepare and implement KPI's for the accurate and relevant measurement of the unit's performance
  • Communicate effectively with the community, customer base and other stakeholders.
  • Respond to and resolve Customer Service Requests as required.
  • Assist the Manager in the preparation and management of the Unit budget, Business Plan and WHS Plan.
  • Keep up to date with industry legislation, programs and resources and share knowledge with team
  • Investigate and report on funding, including grants, projects and related reporting.
  • Coordinate the Operational Reporting requirements for the unit including but not limited to the Operational Plan reporting, Safety deliverables for the unit.
  • Assist in the preparation of correspondence and reports (including Council Reports), presentations as required/directed.
  • Actively participate in regular unit meetings with other team members and represent the unit at internal and external meetings and functions as required

You will have:

  • Degree qualification in a Business discipline area or equivalent related business experience (minimum 5 years)\
  • Class C Drivers License
  • Exceptional level of customer service
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in your approach to your work
  • Exceptional level of attention to detail in all aspects of your work
  • Experience in business analysis, administration and providing financial and purchasing assistance.
  • Highlevel communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Windows' Programs
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills together with high level strategic and analytical thinking
  • Demonstrated relationship management experience and highly developed interpersonal skillsAbility to prepare and monitor budgets
  • Demonstrated experience with utilising technology to improve performance and business processes
