_Our client is a government entity and focusses on providing community health services. They are currently looking to hire an enthusiastic and experienced Maintenance Officer, to assist in running and general handyman maintenance of a critical site, and some smaller commercial office spaces. _


Reporting into the Facilities Manager, the organisation is revitalising its facilities maintenance approach, and you will be a pivotal member to assist with the completion of minor maintenance works and rectifications.


You will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking general maintenance and repair requirements of the organisation across the facility, including minor carpentry, painting and patching walls, repairing doors or locks etc.
  • When necessary, arranging or managing vendors or subcontractors to complete preventative or reactive maintenance works.
  • Undertake inspections in accordance with job allocations from the Facilities Manager, including inspection of completed works by external subcontractors are at a satisfactory level
  • Ensure that works are carried out in accordance with all OH&S Act/Regulations and company guidelines
  • Review, triage and investigate maintenance requests, including determining priority.
  • Participate in a 'on call' roster with other members of the team to respond to out of business hours urgent requests.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff, stakeholders, visitors and contractors.

As an experienced Maintenance Officer, you will demonstrate the following:

  • A trade background is beneficial and a comprehensive knowledge across carpentry, minor plumbing and electrical, and painting work ideally.
  • A customercentric mindset with a proven ability to interact effectively with stakeholders
  • Excellent knowledge of Essential Safety Measures and OHS
  • General office administration skills including basic invoicing, Microsoft Office Package and using the Work Order Management systems
  • The ability to triage work orders
