Brisbane City Council is the largest local government in Australia with over $38 billion in assets, an annual $4 billion budget and over 9,000 staff. Brisbane is going through a period of unprecedented growth, with the economy projected to grow to $275 billion by 2041 and an infrastructure project pipeline surpassing $25 billion. The upcoming Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games present a unique opportunity for the CEO to lead the Council during a transformative period to create a vibrant, successful and liveable city for the future.
Utilising experience as a CEO or senior executive in an organisation of scale, you will provide strong leadership for the organisation in accordance with the priorities of the Lord Mayor and Civic Cabinet. This involves implementing policies, programs and initiatives that align with the Administration's objectives and community needs. It will be important to deliver positive, customer-orientated outcomes for the community while maintaining effective working relationships with other government departments, regional authorities and special interest groups.
Commercial acumen, negotiation skills and understanding of governance and risk will be essential. You will focus on delivering world-class services in a commercial and self-sustaining way. Visionary leadership will drive transformational change towards an efficient and customer-focused organisation. This will involve championing initiatives that support business systems and technology, increasing customer satisfaction, directing resources to frontline services and other key priorities.
The highest levels of integrity and ethical conduct are critical, with the ability to align with and promote Council's values paramount.
