Perigon Group are assisting a a highly regarded commercial construction/fitout business in their search for a new Cabinetmaking Manager.

They have long standing relationships with some of Australia's best known brands, providing commercial fit-outs and building maintenance across Queensland.


The Role


We are currently looking for a trade qualified, hands-on Production / Shop-Fitting Manager with estimating experience to lead the team of cabinetmakers and maintenance carpenters.


Key accountabilities and duties include:

  • Ensuring adequate communication to keep staff uptodate
  • Controlling conditions of production in order to satisfy customer and quality specifications and standards
  • Organising and directing workflow for satisfying production requirements in a costefficient manner
  • Developing and motivating costeffective alternatives and improvements to production process
  • Ensuring that the product effectively satisfies the quality level ordered by the client
  • Participating actively in standardisation and cost reduction initiatives
  • Maintaining employee safety and morale by creating safe working and efficient working environment
  • Ensuring the effectual adopting of new programs and policies and providing training in order to meet improved requirements ordered by clients
  • Reviewing the overall performance and identifying training necessities of production personnel

About You

Essential requirements of the role include:

  • Trade qualified, minimum ten years industry experience
  • Minimum of five years' experience in the cabinet making industry in a managerial function.
  • Estimating and Tendering experience.
  • Sound knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice, and other relevant Quality Assurance Programs
  • Sound knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements and implementations.
  • Highlevel leadership and decisionmaking skills.
  • Knowledge of production machinery and techniques.
  • Ability to solve manufacturing problems.
  • Ability to influence and strong accountability.
  • Able to motivate, influence, and train people.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Good time management and planning skills.
  • Client focus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Forklift, Scissor Lift and Boom Lift tickets, MR Licence (or willingness to obtain).
