  • Job Description
  • As a key Member of the Wabtec Control Systems Team, the purpose of the Signal Technician is to assist in the installation and maintenance of electrical/signal equipment and systems as required. Strong support for all test & commissioning task.
    Responsibilities:
  • Promote and ensure the appropriate standards of health, safety and environmental management are adhered to;
  • Testing and commissioning works on outages and maintenance
  • Fault finding
  • Use of level crossing equipment
  • Points and switch installation and maintenance
  • Upload and download signal data and software
  • Other electrical/signal work as required


Qualifications and Skills
  • Essential
  • Substantial field experience working as a Signal Technician with both maintenance and installation
  • Restricted Electrical Licence
  • Valid Australian Drivers Licence
  • Competence and proven track record with the following:
  • Microlok II, GE, Westinghouse/Siemens signalling systems
  • installation, fault finding, T&C
  • Predictor Based level Crossing installation, Fault Finding, T&C
  • Track circuit set up and calibrationPreferred "A" electrical license
  • Railway Signalling technician license with IRSE or equivalent
  • ARTC, PTA, Brookfield Rail, QR, RTIO, BHP or other Australian rail infrastructure accreditation
  • Solid signalling communications systems experience
  • Testing experience
