As a forward thinking Australian manufacturer, they have acquired cutting edge robotic welding technology and we are now seeking an experience advanced manufacturing professional to successfully deliver this project

The Role:


As the Robotic Welding Specialist, your primary objective will be to ensure the successful integration of their new robotic welding system into the existing business.

Furthermore, you will also be responsible for building the capacity of this new service and work collaboratively with the existing team to commercialise this offering.

As such, you should expect to undertake the following:

  • Serve as the Design Engineering Technical lead on this exciting new project
  • Ensure successful installation, commissioning, and commercialisation of the new robotic welding system
  • Manage procurement
  • Liaise with the overseas OEM providing technical information as required
  • Liaise with the internal engineering team to incorporate the new robotic welding system
  • Develop welding procedures
  • Administer contracts with external suppliers including contractors and labour supply
  • Build and manage the Robotic Welding Team
  • Attend the OEM premises as required ongoing international travel required
  • You will be required to maintain working hours in line with Western Europe until the robotic system has been successfully commissioned. As such, flexible working arrangements will be provided i.e. flexi start/finish time and WFH options.

You:

To be successful in this role, you will need the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Demonstrable background in advanced manufacturing
  • Relevant tertiary or trade qualification such as an engineering degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Process, Industrial or a trade qualification in Welding or Laser Cutting
  • Extensive experience in the design, fabrication, installation, commissioning or operation of similar machine i.e. robotic systems, 6axis welders, presses, CNCs, plasma cutter etc
  • Ability to operate industry standard design software such as AutoCAD and Inventor
  • Passion for embracing new technology to develop factories of the future
  • Conscientious and organised approach to your work
The role will require semi-regular travel to Europe. As such the successful applicant must have the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
