Director QFR Engagement and Coordination (Chief Superintendent)

At our emergency service agency, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), we are dedicated to ensuring the safety of individuals and assets across the region. This involves effective planning, quick response, and efficient recovery efforts in various emergency scenarios.

QFES plays a crucial role in delivering top-notch fire, rescue, emergency, and disaster management services as a unified entity. Our collaborative approach with stakeholders leads to enhanced safety outcomes for the community.

Position Overview:

  • Lead the provision of QFR State Capability support for operational and business planning.
  • Direct units within the branch to support the regional execution of a vision for the QFR's future blueprint.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Current valid Blue Card from Blue Card Services.
  • Manual Medium Rigid (MRV) driver's license recognized by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

  • Manage QFES operations during large-scale incidents and disasters.
  • Undertake State Coordinator duties in managing the State Operations Centre.
  • Lead deployments of QFES resources on intrastate and interstate operations.

Community Safety Operations

  • Manage Community Safety Operations standards and services.
  • Coach regions in implementing community safety programs.

Professional Development

  • Develop training standards consistent with Operations Management and Community Safety Operations.
  • Implement workforce capability programs.

Operations Business Management

  • Manage state, regional, or area operations effectively.
  • Provide leadership to drive Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) performance excellence.
