Knox Private Hospital currently have opportunities for Allied Health Assistants (AHA) to join our Allied Health team on a casual basis.

This role will include regular weekday and weekend shifts, working on our acute wards including orthopaedics, general surgery and medical wards.

Under the direct supervision of the ward Physiotherapist, you will be assisting in the clinical and non-clinical management of acute hospital inpatients.

Work is well underway on a major expansion of Knox Private Hospital that will help us continue to meet the growing demand for quality health care across Melbourne's east.


The new multi-million-dollar expansion will help Knox Private deliver an expanded and enhanced service offering for our patients, and will further cement our reputation as a world-class healthcare facility.


2023/2024 Expansion Project includes:


Three story North Tower with two wards (60 beds), upgrade to Knox Heart Centre (our non-invasive diagnostic cardiology), both recently commissioned, upgrade and increase in ICU and CCU beds, 16 chair renal dialysis unit and Specialist Consulting Suites.


As an Allied Health Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Support members of the Allied Health team to provide high standard of clinical care to patients/families
  • Work under the direct supervision of Physiotherapists to help clients achieve their goals
  • Adhere to Healthscope and site policies and procedures
  • Contribute to efficient and effective running of the department
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement and occupational health and safety
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times

Essential criteria:

  • Certificate III of IV in Allied Health Assistance
  • Authority to work in Australia
  • Ability to work across both sites of Knox Private Hospital and Ringwood Private Hospital
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, manage time effectively and complete activities
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Knowledge of physiotherapy in an acute hospital setting
  • Experience working with or providing care to people in acute healthcare setting
