About the opportunity

The Eastern Freeway in Victoria is undergoing upgrades that will include new express lanes, advanced traffic management technology, and Melbourne's first dedicated busway. These improvements aim to reduce travel times and enhance public transport in the eastern part of Melbourne.

Laing O'Rourke is involved in the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance alongside Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis, and WSP. The project entails building a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, as well as upgrades to roads, bridges, smart traffic management technology, and noise protection measures that meet Victoria's strict traffic noise standards. Additionally, the project will bring benefits to the local community through improved walking and cycling connections, upgrades to Koonung Creek Reserve, and enhancements to wetlands and open spaces.

About the role

Currently, we are looking for a Structures Supervisor to join our team working on the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead daily pre-start meetings efficiently
  • Oversee project programs in compliance with technical specifications and standards
  • Supervise daily activities of subcontractors
  • Coordinate construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Prioritize Safety, OH&S requirements, and risks
  • Build positive relationships with all stakeholders

About you

  • Prior experience in construction delivery within the construction/infrastructure sector
  • Demonstrate collaborative leadership and strong communication skills
  • Ability to engage effectively with clients, manage time, and lead safety initiatives
  • Work well within a large team and align with project values
  • Focus on fostering a positive team culture and project environment
