Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning pipe prior to granulation
  • Sorting of plastic pipes by colour
  • Feeding pipe into the granulator safely by hand or by using a forklift
  • Removing and weighing of bags when full
  • Record granulation information
  • Operate the granulator and all associated plant and machinery without the need for direct supervision while ensuring equipment is operated to specified conditions and procedures.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of the quality system, focusing on the quality of finished material.
  • Carry out work in a safe manner, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Properly wear, use, and maintain personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure the granulator area is kept clean and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Competently and neatly complete all relevant paperwork, including marking finished drums appropriately with all relevant information (e.g., drum number, date, and granulated by)
  • Know and follow any safety restrictions related to forklift operations within the workplace.
  • Act in a diligent and respectful manner when given instructions from the respective team leader.
  • Perform additional routine duties associated with the extrusion process, including labouring, cleaning, and granulating, as per the level of training given.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out diligently and up to the standard of training received.

Qualifications:

  • LF Forklift ticket and forklift operation experience essential
  • Proven machine operation experience
  • Plastic industry experience is an advantage
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
