In this role, you'll:


you'll be responsible for coordinating and supporting the Regional Property and Asset Renewal (RPAR) Property Manager with delivering all Property Services for the NSW non-electrified railway network Property Portfolio, including the renewal of occupations, reuse or disposal of surplus assets to achieve the organisational key objectives.

The Renewal Officer is responsible for:

  • Supporting all aspects of the RPAR Property Portfolio, asset reuse, planning and/or development and implementation of a range of diverse occupations of CRN assets, including the renewal of expired agreements, asset reuse planning and maintenance, coordinating resources, managing financial activities, meeting the reporting requirements, and supporting the Property Manager with all other RPAR Property related activities, to ensure all outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within the agreed scope which is in line with established agency requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management to engage stakeholders and ensure RPAR and the CRN Property deliverables are met.
  • Monitoring and evaluating all aspects of the RPAR Property Portfolio, agreement renewals, implementation of reuse projects or disposals, including risk and contingency management for renewal impact and quality measures, to identify and address issues, report renewal progress and effectiveness, and achieve project outcomes.
  • Participating in the RPAR team, demonstrating compliance with governance and quality requirements, to successfully deliver all key RPAR and CRN Property milestones and outcomes.
  • Participating in research and formulating recommendations to support evidencebased renewal planning and decision making.
  • Providing support to stakeholders on CRN Property opportunities and to support RPAR project delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other priorities.
This is a fixed term full time role up to 31 December 2024 located at Newcastle.

About you

You have demonstrated experience in managing railway property, leasing and licencing, asset reuse, contract management and providing quality customer service and similar support services.

You also have experience in project management including scoping, controlling, monitoring, and reporting.


You're comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including community groups and local government and you're able to consider their varying expectations, viewpoints, and interests to achieve positive outcomes.

You have well-developed communication skills and demonstrated experience in managing community consultation programs.


You will be confident in your problem-solving skills and able to build rapport easily with service providers, regional communities and government agencies allowing you to drive real and tangible outcomes.
