About the Role

This position calls for a highly experienced educator with enthusiasm and commitment to work in a challenging and rewarding role, providing Catholic educational leadership for learning and teaching services through coordination, advocacy, representation and delivery of services to support the Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Cairns.

The Consultant will promote contemporary principles of effective Literacy and Numeracy learning and teaching whilst working with school personnel on enhancing teacher capacity and therefore student outcomes. The Consultant will work at all levels of the curriculum process from supporting whole school Literacy and Numeracy programs to coaching and supporting classroom teachers. The aim is improving student Literacy and Numeracy through the implementation of a whole school approach and teaching strategies that provide positive learning experiences so that all students achieve success.

Work Requirements

• Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and effectiveness in the development of effective literacy and numeracy practices.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience within the primary context.
• An ability to build positive relationships within professional learning networks that affect improvement in learning.
• A demonstrated knowledge and commitment to integrating contemporary learning principles and practices.
• Ability to work across a range of educational contexts.
• A demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels of the school community.
• Current driver licence and be able to travel within and outside the diocese.
• A strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision, and ethos of Catholic Education.
• Promote child safety at all times.
