Reporting to the Regional ANZ EHS Manager, the individual is accountable for providing EHS leadership, advice and assistance to all employees at PPG Traffic Solutions sites across ANZ - Ingleburn (NSW), Dandenong (VIC), Darra (QLD), Belmont (WA) and Glendene (Auckland).

The incumbent will support the stakeholders to drive consistent and continuous improvement in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) practices and standards whilst developing best practice in safety and operations through inspection, audit, investigation and corrective action.


The incumbent will be providing the support of EH&S programs' implementation at place, working closely with the site leadership and owners of PPG EHS requirements and EHSMS elements to implement and drive a sustainable EH&S Management System.

In order to succeed in this position, you will possess the ability to establish future directions for the company, set high performance expectations for both yourself and the site team to achieve organisational and departmental goals.

You must be able to be on the ground, carrying out operational EH&S duties as well as being able to provide direction and support oversight.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
EH&S

  • Support the site manager and EHSLT members for the deployment of EHS Management System (EHSMS) that meet the PPG EHS requirements across all Traffic Solutions sites in ANZ. Work with the internal stakeholders including operation, engineering and maintenance teams at Traffic Solutions to ensure that EHSMS is fully deployed and implemented.
  • Support the site manager and EHSLT members for the implementation of the site's EHS policies, procedures and risk management strategies, whilst liaising with Senior Leadership Team and various stakeholders.
  • Maintaining compliance with all Traffic Solutions site licenses, agreements and all applicable legislative requirements including but not limited to the EPA licence, DG storage licence / notification and fire safety.
  • Work with the site manager and EHS LT members to ensures that the site meets all EHS regulatory and business specific requirements, and flag potential noncompliances and issues.
  • Assist with the facilitation of the EHS leadership team meeting at the site.
  • Continuously improve the site's EHS Management system conformance to PPG Corporate requirements through internal audits, including the creation and review of procedures, in addition to driving corrective action closure.
  • Mentor and coach the site's EHS Management System Element Owners.
  • Ensure site EHS Training system and EHS training plans are in place to meet regulatory and PPG training requirements.
  • Monitor and report the completion of all Injuries, Incidents and Near Misses investigations and Root Cause Analysis conducted during monthly EHSLT meetings.
  • Ensure relevant personnel are trained in the proper use of the PPG EHS global database for injury, incident and near miss reporting and that it is utilized and maintained.
  • Develop, in conjunction with Plant / Site Operations Manager, EHS processes such as Human Performance and Management Intervention Programs to drive EHS performance and implement to standard and schedule.
  • Develop, drive and manage the site Risk Assessment Program, that complies with legislative (Occupational Health and Safety Act) & business requirements.
  • Undertake regulatory and PPG reporting as required.
  • Ensure all relevant EHS monthly and quarterly KPI/reports are completed in full and on time for all Traffic Solutions sites.
  • Work with the site manager and EHS LT members to ensure that Corporate/Regional or local audit finding/s are closed out within agreed time frames. Track closure of all reportable findings in the corporate audit database within required timeframe.
  • Ensure that the Emergency Rescue Team (ERT) is maintained and trained to fulfil their duties.
  • Ensure that annual industrial Hygiene strategy for Traffic Solution sites across ANZ are 100% completed and reviewed annually.
  • Work with the site manager and EHS LT members to ensure Environmental compliance at the Traffic Solution sites across ANZ.
  • Assist with workplace Risk Assessments and incident investigations as requested.
  • Ensure active Disability Management process is in place to manage workplace injuries and illnesses, restricted duty conditions, and return to work authorizations in coordination with local Human Resources, operations leadership, and thirdparty support. This applies to nonwork related issues as well.
  • Work with the EHS Manager for New Zealand to ensure EHS compliance with local NZ regulations for the Glendene site (Auckland).
