About the role


Reporting to the Arts & Cultural Coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining the pottery spaces at Ku-ring-gai Art Centre to glaze and fire pottery work.

Keep the centre/studio clean and safe for instructors and participants. Teach various pottery/sculpture techniques.

Duties

  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and conduct basic maintenance of pottery equipment (eg. kilns and pottery wheels)
  • Demonstrated experience in mixing and making of glazes and firing of pottery

Skills & experience

  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment
  • Effective oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Physical ability to carry out tasks and duties required
  • Tertiary diploma or above qualifications in ceramics or extensive experience as a pottery studio technician/ceramic technical assistant
  • Clear Working with Children Check for paid workers
