Our client, a national construction company specializing in insurance support, is looking for a dynamic and seasoned Major Loss Building Supervisor to join their bustling Complex and Loss team permanently. With a knack for thriving in fast-paced environments and a solid grasp of both the construction and insurance sectors, you will oversee end-to-end repair projects for major and complex loss assignments. About the role

As a Major Loss Building Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing major and complex loss construction projects from start to finish.
  • Managing end-to-end repair processes for major and complex loss projects.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality construction standards and proper techniques.
  • Conducting detailed project reviews, scheduling deliverables, and estimating costs.
  • Negotiating agreements, drafting contracts, and securing permits and licenses.
  • Meeting established KPIs.
  • Proactively planning to prevent and resolve issues while ensuring timely repairs.
  • Prioritizing tasks, working systematically, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Developing and nurturing client relationships in the major and complex loss market.
  • Assessing, managing, and mitigating risks while complying with OHS regulations.
  • Adhering to statutory legislation and relevant Health and Safety policies.
  • Producing internal and external reports on job progress.
  • Assisting in new hire training.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A degree/qualification in Construction Management and Building & Construction/Builder's Registration - essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing major and complex loss events in the insurance building sector.
  • Worked with a multi-skilled trades team in occupied or vacant properties.
  • Trade Qualifications highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to safety with a solid understanding of construction-related OHS laws.
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to handle multiple priorities and plan effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and construction scheduling software.
