THE ROLE REPORTS to the Production Manager, to work Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, approximately 6:00 am to 6:00 pm (DAY & AFTERNOON SHIFT)

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience in a Cook role or operating in a similar capacity for a minimum of 6 months (minimum entry level)
  • Certificate III or IV
  • Commercial Cookery Flexible work style and enjoys variety
  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, food manufacturing environment
  • Able to exercise good judgment

  • Exceptional personal presentation & hygiene

KEY DUTIES

  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
  • Prepare sandwiches, wraps or salads and other similar items as directed by Management.
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meetc.
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
