Permanent Opportunity based in Wyong Great opportunity for an experienced Quality & Food Safety Professional.


We are seeking a QA Manager for our clients Wyong Plant that possesses proven success in managing and maintaining a safe quality system in a Food environment.

This position will be responsible for the ongoing quality management process by maintaining and developing new policies and documents, driving change.

This also includes ensuring compliance with GMP, HACCP and other food safety standards as well as providing a high level of customer service working directly with internal and external customers.


About the role
Reporting to the Group Technical Manager, your responsibilities will include;

  • Lead, and manage the Quality Assurance team at the Wyong site by coaching, mentoring and directing Quality Assurance Personnel
  • Provide Training to individuals who handle the product
  • Playing a significant role in ensuring the products meet Regulatory and Customer standards
  • Report Quality Issues to Production Manager and develop strategies to improve the production process
  • Analyse Production and Quality Control KPI's, identify opportunities for improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Oversee all quality related activities on site in accordance with the QMS/Quality Manual and associate SOPs and WI
  • Site Lead for Third party audits and Use audit findings to drive ongoing continuous improvements
  • Handles external audits to ensure quality standards are maintained to regulatory requirements (DFSV, HACCP, SQF, Organic. etc).
  • Supporting the commercialisation of new product development process
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to complete improvement projects
  • Developing strong relationships with key customers and suppliers
  • Developing and maintaining Quality Management Systems, Practices and Plans to ensure the quality of all product requirements
  • Plan internal audits to ensure quality standards are maintained and prepare reports and corrective actions.
  • Handles certification and registration work with local and overseas food authorities.
  • Coordinate approved supplier program including reviews. Develop and present training programs for staff including inductions, safety training, QA and food safety initiatives
  • Assist with the management of environmental requirements including pest controls
  • Attend to nonconformances and customer complaints
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and Risk Assessments.
  • Arranging external calibration of the equipment
  • Monitor workplace risk assessments, incident investigations and reporting procedures related to food safety functions
  • Manage Workplace Health and Safety roles, offering support, communication and direction
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment involving QA, HACCP, Food Safety & GMP and minimum 2 years of experience in quality assurance management.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or similar discipline
  • Food Safety Auditing (Internal and External) HACCP Qualification
  • Dairy experience will be highly regarded
