Who are we looking for?
We're looking for an experienced
Botanist / Ecologist to be an integral member of our growing Ecology team.

Based in any of our South-Queensland
offices , this position will see you enjoy a varied and busy role utilising your skills.

This role offers technical growth through working across market sectors for a variety of clients in an exciting time with the Energy Transition and Infrastructure Boom.

Join our already established team of over 25 ecologists within South Queensland and become part of our global network of skilled engineers, scientists, auditors, planners and environmental specialists, all working together to leave this world better than we found it.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Working on local, national and international projects to identify, assess and monitor ecological values, to support key clients to drive sustainable environmental outcomes on major projects, particularly within the markets of Future Energy, Future Water and Future Communities.
• Fieldbased ecology survey work including but not limited to assessment of vegetation communities and habitats, regional ecosystems, threatened species and communities, biosecurity species, BioCondition surveys, carbon capture auditing.
• Identifying and reporting on ecological impacts, developing avoidance and mitigation plans, assessing significant residual impacts in accordance with guidelines, and developing biodiversity offset solutions for a range of projects and scales.

What you will bring to the team:

• Tertiary qualifications in Botany/Zoology/Ecology/Natural Resource Management coupled with a minimum of 5 years' professional experience in ecological impact assessment, management and monitoring and biodiversity offsets.
• Demonstrated field survey capabilities in regional ecosystem verification, identification and description of vegetation communities, protected plant surveys and flora species identification, habitat mapping, biosecurity species identification and mapping and BioCondition assessments. Including Queensland drivers licence and capacity to work outdoors on short and extended field programs.
• Proven experience and knowledge of QLD and Commonwealth regulatory frameworks and policy with respect to listed matters, management and offsetting.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills with demonstrated track record in the planning, coordination and management of environmental projects including experience with GIS desktop and data collection packages such as ESRI and ArcGIS.
