In this crucial position, you will be reporting directly to the Superintendent Mine Execution and will be responsible for creating and executing the Daily Schedule for our mining and processing teams. Your expertise will play a vital role in achieving our scheduled targets safely and upholding grade specifications, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our activities.Duties:
  • Design, implement, and optimize mine execution processes and procedures to align with our operational objectives
  • Effectively manage interactions between the execution team and stakeholders, ensuring operational excellence and addressing grade variations efficiently
  • Collaborate with the scheduling team to develop robust and achievable schedules, ensuring operational success
  • Supervise and enhance our inventory tracking and quality management systems to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Take the lead in enhancing data entry and validation processes, ensuring operational reports are accurate and timely
  • Advocate for schedule adherence, promoting a comprehensive understanding of weekly performance metrics and driving operational enhancements
Skills and experience:
  • Substantial operational experience in an open-pit mining setting, with hands-on involvement in mine or port execution roles focusing on grade control and daily scheduling
  • Demonstrated track record of preparing daily schedules for iron ore mining and processing operations
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret, analyze, and present operational data and information clearly
  • An ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving operational excellence – prior leadership experience will be highly regarded
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a related field is desirable, supplementing your practical experience
  • A genuine enthusiasm for operational enhancement, combined with the drive to instigate positive change within our operations
