We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager to support News' Technology, Data and Digital function.


The Procurement Manager will take a lead role in the delivery of procurement and contract management activities across the Technology, Data and Digital (TDD) business function.


What's the role?

  • Lead a wide range of procurement activities across the procurement lifecycle from strategy development, tendering, contract implementation and supplier management.
  • Partner with the business to unlock value for your stakeholders through the full life of the sourcing and contract activities.
  • Develop and lead sourcing contracts for low to high value/risk activities, including preparation of high quality fit for purpose procurement documentation.
  • Lead negotiations to deliver strong commercial and operational outcomes.
  • Identify risks and develop highly effective mitigation strategies
  • Prepare and present award recommendations to senior management
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to business stakeholders in contract management matters such as claims, disputes and variations.
  • Support the GM Procurement or Group Procurement Manager in managing strategic business relationships.
TDD procurement is across the spectrum of software, hardware, IT service implementation and IT resource contracting.


While category experience would be advantageous, News is highly interested in transferable skills, diversity of experience and your ability to bring strong commercial acumen and high quality procurement skill.

  • High performing procurement manager looking for a new challenge
  • You have a data driven approach, with an exceptional commercial and operational mindset
  • Minimum 57+ years strategic sourcing or category management experience
  • You are positive, proactive and collaborative and bring an ethical procurement approach and an ability to challenge the status quo
  • Welldeveloped competencies in procurement and contract management, with exceptional written and verbal skills
  • Highly confident working with contracts review, drafting and advice with support from senior procurement management and Legal
  • Highly confident in dealing with and presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Resilient, flexible and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Confident in your ability to manage multiple projects
  • Experience in managing disputes and claims (highly desirable)
