Hse Advisor

Ventia has a long-standing partnership with Qenos, and we have an opportunity for HSE Advisor to join our team for a shutdown at their Altona Facility.

This casual opportunity is available from Feb 2023 working night shift

The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership and direction to achieve project HSE goals.

You will be accountable for the interpretation of the frameworks, systems and processes that will enable high performance and compliance of the contract.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Report and advise on Health and Safety matters
• Conduct and analyse HSE audit results
• Upholding and communicating HSE standards and taking action to ensure saftey
• Identifying OH&S issues, risks and hazards, work method risk assessment and public safety
• Facilitate the delivery of mandatory and contractual HSE training for all levels of the workforce.
• Support the documentation of Project specific HSE process and procedures as necessary.
• Task HSE Advisors in support of the daytoday HSE function and operational needs.
• Coordinate workplace safety committee meetings and act as adviser on health, safety and environmental matters.
• Partner with operations teams to ensure any nonconformance or deficiency in HSE programs or practices are reviewed and appropriate corrective actions taken to prevent recurrence

About you:

As this is a high touch role we are seeking those with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills who are comfortable and effective in negotiating and dispute resolution.

Furthermore, we are recruiting against a can-do attitude and passion for process improvement relating to systems and work practices.

You will possess:

• Experience in a similar role and industry
• Strong Leadership skills and demonstrated experience managing a high performing team.
• Diploma, Degree or master's in Occupational Health and Safety is desirable
• High level of computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Aconex and SharePoint
• Working knowledge of current Workplace Health and Safety legislation and current work practices
• Excellent communication skills
