The role


The Archivist provides support to the school community and alumni with the primary focus on managing the historical archives for the purposes of collecting, accessioning, preserving, conserving and restoring in order to communicate and promote the history and heritage of the College.

You will demonstrate the following attributes and capabilities:

  • Willingness to support the ethos and values of the College.
  • Qualification in Archives, Records Management or in a similar field from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • High level skill in archives management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of best practice in archives and records management procedures.
  • Experience in appraisal, arrangement, description and sentencing of records and materials.
  • Ability to establish and manage databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and raise awareness of the historical value of archives in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of preservation and conservation principles, including museum displays.
  • The ability to operate autonomously, within a team with initiative and flexibility and meet deadlines.
  • High level of computer literacy, administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of, and commitment to the education sector.
