The Role:


Reporting to the Crew Lead Civil North East, (based at Olinda Reservoir, Lilydale) this full-time permanent role is essentially a watermain repair technician and is responsible for the execution of civil maintenance as well as project works on Melbourne Water's assets.


This will be achieved through:

  • The operation of heavy plant vehicles (such as excavators up to 8 ton) and a range of hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Undertaking civil asset maintenance (e.g fault detection and repairing of large transfer water pipes) as well as project activities
  • Identification and reporting of hazards and active involvement in improvement initiatives in order to continuously improve Health and Safety
  • Responding to call outs as per Incidents and/or Emergency Response

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Manual Drivers Licence and MR (Medium Rigid) or HR (Heavy Rigid) licence, and experience operating up to 8ton excavators
  • Certificate 3 in Civil Construction is preferable
  • Willing and able to work from heights, with Asbestos, within confined spaces.
  • Experience of identifying risks and quality in order to assist in the provision of a safe environment as well as high quality drinking water for Melbourne's residents.
Salary level WLD EA 3.

1:
$72,778 plus superannuation and wellbeing allowance
