Those coming from a broking or claims background demonstrating an interest in moving into an Underwriting position will also be considered.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver profitable growth through achievement of GWP through production, profitability and expenses including retention, conversion rate, and loss ratio.
  • Underwrite referrals within delegated underwriting authority in accordance with the guidelines for new business, renewals and endorsements. Make recommendations for acceptance or declination of risks which exceed authority.


 Business development
  • Establish relationships with key and new producers identifying opportunities including scheme and portfolio transfers.

Your Experience:

  • Proven experience within general insurance
  • Sound communication skills with the ability to maintain and develop relationship both internally & externally.
  • Consistently displays initiative and seeks opportunities to innovate with an eye for new business opportunities.
  • Understands the principles of risk and corresponding underwriting appetite(s).
  • Knowledge of the products/services of key competitors.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
