The Opportunity

Don't miss this opportunity to join our Material Handling Team The Superintendent - Plant Logistics position on the afternoon shift will oversee the activities of the Kitting Warehouse & Material Logistics managing all inventory from time of delivery on site up to when it is presented to production.


Key Responsibilities
Ensure the Kitting Warehouse and Materials Logistics runs safely and efficiently in the following areas:

  • Safety First and Environmental principles, policies and procedures are being followed.
  • The Kitting Warehouse and Materials Logistics runs efficiently across the plant.
  • Develop and recommend improvements in the warehouse and material handling departments to promote costefficient and timely service to the truck manufacturing plant using available data and Six Sigma philosophy to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Support Management on strategic planning and projects as required.
  • Develop plans for growth in operations to reflect future demands and projections.
  • Review quality indictors daily and provide feedback to responsible Supervisors.
  • Plant and equipment are maintained and used correctly and efficiently, including making Capital Budget Submissions for replacement or extra equipment.
  • Work closely with Supervisors to create and deliver Material Handling core briefs.
  • Mentor Supervisor and provide performance feedback along with training plans across the department to develop talent aligned with succession planning strategies.
  • Attend and participate in Production meetings and follow up issues as required.

About You

  • Degree in Business/Logistics/Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Warehouse, materials planning systems exp.
  • Strong presentation and business writing skills
  • High analytical & mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
