D'Arcy Weil is representing a leading integrated energy company, is seeking a talented Regulatory Advisor to join their dynamic team in the Energy Markets division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor regulatory developments and policy changes affecting the energy markets, including National Electricity Rules (NER), National Gas Rules (NGR), and associated legislation.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of regulatory proposals and consultations, providing insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders on potential impacts and opportunities.
  • Support the development of regulatory strategies and policy positions, collaborating with crossfunctional teams to align with business objectives and priorities.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, representing the company's interests in regulatory proceedings, inquiries, and industry forums.
  • Prepare submissions, responses, and briefing materials for regulatory consultations, ensuring accurate and timely delivery in accordance with regulatory deadlines.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on compliance with market rules, licensing requirements, and other regulatory obligations, supporting business units in navigating complex regulatory frameworks.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics, informing regulatory strategy and decisionmaking.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions and educational materials to internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance and market developments.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel and consultants to support regulatory initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and risk management.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of regulatory changes and industry reforms, assessing potential impacts on business operations.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to regulatory compliance and engagement activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with industry counterparts, regulatory agencies, and relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Economics, Public Policy, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in regulatory affairs, preferably within the energy sector or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of energy market regulations, including NER, NGR, and associated legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with regulatory bodies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory frameworks and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment, managing competing priorities and delivering highquality results under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
