The role of an Automation Technician at Geographe offers a fantastic opportunity for you to apply your innovative skills in developing unique and practical solutions for our production automation systems.

To excel in this role, you need to demonstrate skills in:

  • Producing and maintaining documentation for all automation systems.
  • Creating and updating supporting documentation for new systems and ideas.
  • Tackling technical issues within our automated production system.
  • Possessing a solid understanding of IT infrastructure in an industrial setting.
  • Collaborating with IT experts to devise technical solutions for business needs.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (experience with Allen Bradley PLC's preferred).
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Engaging with a diverse group of colleagues.
  • Participating in Controls Systems cross-training.
The Requirements:
  • Tertiary Qualification in Applied Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Trade Qualifications in Manufacturing or Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience in a production environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in automation and control technologies including PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols for autonomous and control systems.
  • Ability to commission and diagnose machinery systems.
  • Capability to conduct calculations, engineering analysis, and systematic product selection with an eye on innovation evolution.
  • Skilled in communicating insights and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset for data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborative teamwork skills along with autonomy in project operations.
  • Prior experience in CNC Machining within manufacturing.
