What you will do

  • Conduct research and analysis into current issues, trends, opportunities, and challenges facing the specific industries and the agriculture sector more broadly. Prepare timely, wellresearched, and highquality correspondence, reports, submissions, briefing notes and policy or issues papers as required. Support the development of strategic advice on agricultural industry developmentrelated issues and the agricultural sector more broadly. Provide support in coordinating departmental events as required. Support senior members of the team with discrete policy projects and coordination activities. Be able to quickly develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve a timely and quality outcome.
What you will bring
Essential requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or work experience in public policy, economics, agricultural science, or a related field is highly desirable. Experience in policy development and/or researching complex issues concerning agricultural industry development is highly desirable. An understanding of specific agricultural industries and the broader Queensland food and agribusiness sector, and issues impacting on sustainability and growth of the sector, is highly desirable.
