About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Consultant within the Upper Gastroenterology Unit
- The successful applicant will have an FRACS or equivalent and be eligible for enrolment on the Specialist Register of South Australia.
- The appointee will have significant experience in the field of general surgery including laparoscopic surgery and upper GI endoscopy.
- The appointee will have specialised training in Upper GI surgery, and/or complex hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, advanced laparoscopic skills including experience in laparoscopic fundoplication and bariatric surgery.
- Clinical research expertise and a commitment to ongoing research is essential.
- The incumbent will be responsible for managing the care of all patients allocated to them in collaboration with the responsible Medical Officers, Registrars, fellow Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.
- The incumbent must undertake a commitment to continuous quality improvement activities including regular Surgical Audit.
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
- Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
