Matthew Dunn Racing is seeking an experienced horse trainer/educator to manage thoroughbred racehorses within his racing stables.

A full-time position working 38 hours a week located at Murwillumbah NSW

The salary will be above the award, in the range of $70000 per annum, depending upon skill level.

Essential Skills:


It is desirable to have qualifications or at least a minimum of 2 years full time professional experience in the role overseas or in Australia.


In addition, the following will be required:

  • Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing
  • Proven ability to train and educate young horses
  • Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide information
  • Ability to work with and to lead a team independently
  • Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safely obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses.

Qualification:

  • Formal qualifications desirable.
