The part-time position is based on four days per week and is a shift work position. While the hours are primarily worked Monday through Friday some weekend work will be required.

The primary objectives of the position are:

  • To supervise the front of house operations and service delivery of a fine dining restaurant to ensure the delivery of a quality service; and
  • To assist with supervision of daily operations of a variety of food and beverage trading areas (Dining and Function rooms, Bars, etc.) within the Parliamentary precinct.

The duties and responsibilities of the position include:

  • Supervise the front of house operations of a fine dining restaurant.
  • Supervise the day to day operations of a variety of food and beverage trading areas (Dining and Function rooms, Bars, etc).
  • Liaise with Function Coordinators and the Executive Chef in the delivery of services in trading areas.
  • Undertake daily reconciliation of cash registers.
  • Undertake the ordering of prepared items from internal stores, and carry out stocktakes.
  • Assist with the training of new employees.
  • Provide leadership, support and training to other Catering Services staff.
