About Parkinson's Queensland:
Robert Walters has partnered with Parkinson's Queensland who are a leading not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals living with Parkinson's Disease, their families, and health care professionals.
With a strong focus on advocacy, collaboration, education, and research, Parkinson's Queensland strive to raise awareness about the social and economic impact of Parkinson's, build partnerships with like-minded organizations, educate key stakeholders, and encourage vital research efforts.
Position Overview:
An excellent opportunity for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead Parkinson's Queensland in achieving its strategic focus.
As CEO, you will play a crucial role in raising awareness about the significant social and economic costs associated with Parkinson's Disease, fostering partnerships with organizations that share their goals, educating health professionals, politicians, and the public, and promoting and supporting research initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Advocacy:
Lead efforts to advocate for increased awareness of the social and economic impact of Parkinson's Disease, both locally and on a broader scale.
Partnership Building:
Identify, establish, and nurture partnerships and collaborations with organizations that align with our mission, working together to improve the lives of individuals impacted by Parkinson's.
Education and Outreach:
Develop and implement comprehensive education programs targeting health professionals, politicians, and the general public, raising awareness and understanding of Parkinson's Disease.
Research Promotion:
Encourage and support research efforts focused on Parkinson's Disease, fostering collaboration between researchers, healthcare professionals, and individuals affected by the condition.
Organizational Leadership:
Provide strong leadership to the organization, overseeing day-to-day operations, financial management, and human resources.
Fundraising and Sustainability:
Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies to secure the necessary resources to support the organization's initiatives and sustainability.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Foster positive relationships with individuals affected by Parkinson's, their families, healthcare professionals, government bodies, and other stakeholders, ensuring their needs are represented and addressed.
Requirements:
Leadership Experience:
Minimum of up to 10 years of management experience, preferably within the non-profit sector, with a proven track record of leading organizations towards achieving strategic objectives.
Passion for Parkinson's:
An understanding of chronic disease and passion for supporting individuals and families impacted by chronic diseases.
Advocacy Skills:
Strong advocacy skills with the ability to raise awareness, influence policy, and mobilize support.
Partnership Development:
Experience in building and maintaining partnerships with like-minded organizations to drive collective impact.
Education and Communication:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate and engage diverse audiences, including health professionals, politicians, and the general public.
Research Orientation:
Familiarity with research processes and the ability to promote and support research initiatives.
Financial Acumen:
Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, fund-raising, and resource allocation.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including individuals affected by Parkinson's, health care professionals, and government bodies.
Qualifications:
A relevant tertiary qualification in business, management, health sciences, or a related field is preferred.
