EDL is looking to appoint an Operations Supervisor to play a key role in leading a multi-skilled team responsible for the operation and maintenance of their German Creek and Oaky Creek power stations based in the Bowen Basin.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, key deliverables include;

  • Successfully leading, developing and motivating team members to advance EDL's goal of operational excellence
  • Drive and deliver safety leadership and maintain a culture of exceptional safety standards
  • The efficient operation and maintenance of assets to meet maximum safe production targets within budgeted costs and timeframes
  • Ensuring the reliability of assets through robust planning and strategic asset management
  • Implementing and supporting the company's HSE and risk management systems, policies and procedures
  • Effectively building and maintaining positive relationships with bluechip clients ensuring exceptional service in accordance with agreements.
To be considered for this pivotal position you will;

  • Be an energetic, confident and resultsoriented person with superior engagement and communication skills
  • Possess a strong commitment to safety together with experience driving a proactive safety culture through demonstrated behaviours and leadership
  • Be a lateral thinker and effective decisionmaker who uses their initiative
  • Demonstrate a strong grasp and knowledge of technical concepts within operations, maintenance and planning
  • Possess the ability to compile and manage maintenance budgets together with a detailed understanding of the principles of maintenance planning
  • Have experience with the implementation of preventative maintenance programs and the ability to implement strategies to optimise asset life
  • Possess excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and see the issues
  • Be a proven leader who is adaptable and possess welldeveloped interpersonal skills to elevate the team
  • Be an experienced mechanical or electrical tradesperson or engineer with a comprehensive operational background (preferable)
  • Have exposure to heavy industry including but not limited to mining, power generation, energy, oil or gas.
