CDLA is amongst Sydney's leading criminal defence law firms based in Sydney. It is situated a short walk from the Downing Centre Court. Our team of lawyers appear in some of Australia's most high profile and complex crime cases. We appear across all courts in NSW and interstate.

The Role:

This role is for a passionate criminal defence lawyer or recently admitted lawyer with a passion in criminal law to join our growing team from our Sydney CBD head office.

You will work with our team of lawyers and you will instruct some of Australia's leading barristers and silks across a broad range of interesting cases. You'll be required to hit the ground running with a client centric focus.

We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic and desire to progress into criminal defence.

  • Recently admitted or 1-2 years PAE.
  • Passion in criminal law.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Well organised, excellent communication & time management skills.
  • Capable of working in a high pressure environment.
  • Willing to travel to various courts.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Take carriage of a diverse range of criminal and traffic law matters under the supervision of the principal lawyer to guide and train.
  • Regularly appear in court, including instructing counsel.
  • Attend courts across NSW.
