ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • We are seeking a compassionate, flexible social worker to respond to the psychosocial needs of clients of Mercy Palliative Care and to work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. Support is provided in people's homes, office locations and by telehealth. Experience in palliative care is not essential interest in this area and a passion to learn is.

Summary of the role:

  • Up to 64 hours a fortnight, fixed term until June 202
  • Casual work available
  • Psychosocial support & intervention for patients and families
  • Supportive and friendly Allied Health team
  • Position based at Sunshine (main office) Parkville or Werribee offices if required

ABOUT YOU:

  • Degree in Social Work, eligibility for membership of AASW
  • Clinical skills and experience relevant to community palliative care context
  • Experience in grief and loss support across a diverse community desirable
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, team orientated, effective communication skills
  • Current unrestricted driver's licence

  • Mercy Palliative Care is a community palliative care service operating in the Western region of Melbourne and provides a holistic multidisciplinary approach to palliative care. We provide psychological and spiritual support, caring for people of all ages with lifelimiting illnesses in their homes as well as complex symptom management. We currently care for over 500 patients across the region in their own homes.
