Role Summary:


The Manager Central Operations and Analytics is a newly created opportunity in our Asset Optimisation team based at our Perth CBD office.


The Manager, Central Operations & Analytics is a pivotal role to align all functions within Thermal Generation to ensure the team delivers commercial performance, regulatory compliance of the fleet, coordination of fleet production, outage planning and building commercial models for power stations to trade into the market.


The Manager also leads the team to deliver Thermal Generation data analytical vision by creating tools, systems, and culture to harness data value to provide asset intelligence for improved asset management planning and asset performance.


Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and manage an effective team with a performance focus to deliver the Thermal Asset Optimisation plan and strategic objectives
  • Lead and develop the Central Operations and Analytics team to provide direction and support, including succession planning for team.
  • Build and maintain a community of practice to drive data analytical utilisation and capability improvement.
  • Provide Generation fleet production and outage coordination to ensure effective communications between power stations and Wholesale Trading team.
  • Establish a compliance management framework to ensure Thermal Generation's compliance.
  • Lead ICAM investigations for noncompliance matter and implement improvement solutions

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree of engineering, science, data analytics or business
  • 10+ years in the industry with 3+ years' experience specifically in the power industry
  • Sound technical understanding of various power generation/energy storage technologies
  • Sound understanding of WEM market
  • Sound understanding of Thermal Generation's regulatory compliance obligation
