ROLE OVERVIEW

An exciting 12-month full-time opportunity is available at AHA for a Graduate Officer to join the Australian Veterinary Emergency Plan (AUSVETPLAN) and Emergency Animal Disease Response Agreement (EADRA) programs. Reporting to the Head of AUSVETPLAN, the Graduate Officer will play a crucial role in supporting and coordinating project activities, such as planning, budgeting, policies, and stakeholder engagement. This position involves engaging with various stakeholders including government departments, livestock industries, and veterinary professionals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing project support for AUSVETPLAN and EADRA programs, including coordination, administration, analysis, and reporting to ensure efficient program execution.
  • Recording data and information in program/project databases to maintain interdependencies and facilitate reporting processes.
  • Utilizing project management methodology to assist in the timely and quality delivery of training projects and activities.
  • Assisting AUSVETPLAN and EADRA projects in achieving quality outcomes within set budgets and timelines.
  • Identifying and managing potential risks, proposing solutions and risk mitigation measures.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to achieve AHA objectives, fostering partnerships, and delivering results.

The total remuneration for this position starts at $63,654 (including superannuation) and will be based on the candidate's experience level.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tertiary qualifications (or currently pursuing) in Agriculture, Science, Animal Science, or related fields.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to think creatively, propose solutions to complex problems.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in planning and collaboration.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capability to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, office software, internet tools, and databases.
