About the Opportunity

Due to rapid growth, NLT Digital Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Software Engineer, based in our Caboolture Head office in Brisbane, QLD.

Under the supervision of the Software Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of globally distributed software developers, and tackle a diverse range of complex and captivating projects both in person and remotely.

Among these ventures, we are currently focused on the development of Digital Mine, a cutting-edge software solution engineered to track individuals within mines and tunnels. This endeavour has been mapped out in a five-year plan that encompasses ongoing research and development to ensure the software's infrastructure remains resilient and up to date.

Some of your duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshooting and providing support to clients worldwide
  • Being available for on-call duties when necessary to address urgent client needs
  • Contribute to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Offer robust analytical assistance for both on-site and remote systems
  • Conduct thorough code reviews
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members
  • Develop user manuals and technical guides for internal and external use

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will have a minimum of 3 years relevant back-end experience in Software Development, preferably supported by relevant tertiary qualifications.

  • Relational Databases: Candidates should have a strong grasp of relational databases to effectively manage and work with data
  • Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA): Expertise in SOA is important to design and maintain a robust, scalable, and interconnected system
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Pipelines: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is crucial for streamlining the software development and deployment process
  • Programming Languages: We're looking for someone skilled in , Typescript, Angular, and NestJS, and experience in languages like C#, Java, and C++ is a big plus
  • Network Protocols: A strong command of network protocols such as TCP, AMQP, and MQTT is necessary to ensure efficient communication within the system
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Experience: Experience in GIS is highly desirable, as it can be directly applicable to the role's responsibilities
  • Networking Skills: Proficiency in networking tools like Wireshark and telnet is important for troubleshooting and optimising network performance
