Key responsibilities:


Working within the Plantmark Finance Team and reporting to the Financial Controller, this critical role delivers the end-to-end payroll function for a workforce of 120 employees and regularly liaises with a variety of stakeholders across the business.


The highlights of the position are to:

  • End-to-end processing of a fortnightly payroll, including new starters and terminations.
  • Reviewing timesheets for casual hours and permanent staff adjustments.
  • Liaising with managers and frontline staff regarding payroll queries.
  • Updating and ongoing maintenance of payroll records including leave accruals.
  • Monthly and annual reconciliations, reporting and journals for payroll, payroll tax, PAYG, superannuation and workers compensation.
  • Assisting with the completion of payroll related monthend and yearend procedures.


It is expected that the role will require availability for 15 hours per week (or a 30-hour fortnight) with a non-negotiable requirement to work Thursdays.


Desired Skills and Experience:

Essential Experience

To shine in this role, you'll need:

  • Previous experience in delivering a full payroll function.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Sound understanding of employment conditions and rules relating to wage payments, Awards, termination calculations, and superannuation.
  • Capability to follow procedures and identify process improvements.
  • Possess a strong eye for detail and high level of accuracy of work.
  • Experience in the use of Payroll Easy would be desirable.
