Job Objective:
The Mechanical Fitter inspects, diagnoses, adjusts, or repairs wind turbines. Perform maintenance on wind turbine equipment including resolving mechanical and hydraulic malfunctions. Fits and

assembles metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment.

Job Tasks and Duties:

  • Interpreting diagrams, drawings, specifications and plans to determine suitable material and sequence of operations;
  • Inspect the exterior and physical integrity of wind turbine towers;
  • Climb wind turbine towers to inspect or repair wind turbine equipment;
  • Perform routine maintenance on wind turbines;
  • Test and troubleshoot mechanical, and hydraulic components and systems;
  • Measuring and marking out materials for fabrication;
  • Cutting, grinding, and shaping metal and other materials;
  • Replace worn or malfunctioning components;
  • Collect turbine data for testing or research and analysis;
  • Service underground transmission systems, wind field substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems;
  • May erect machines and equipment onsite;
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the organization's associated policies and procedures;

Salary:
$ $65.27 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift

Experience:

  • Fitter: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Order Picking Forklift Licence (preferred)
  • Forklift Licence (preferred)
  • Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

  • Australia (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Belconnen, ACT 2617 (required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Belconnen, ACT 2617: Relocate before starting work (required)
