Our Participation team is transforming how we deliver tennis, with the aim of more people playing more often, regardless of how, where or what format they play.

To help us achieve our plans we are looking for a Participation Project & Capability Lead to join us on a full-time basis.

About the role


The Participation Project & Capability Lead will be responsible to leading and delivering on key projects that will uplift the capability of the Member Association (MA) field team workforce.


With a focus on supporting Tennis Australia and MA participation teams, the role will seek to implement consistent and efficient ways of working to maximise the impact of projects and programmes designed to drive growth in our sport.

This commitment to growing the capability of the workforce that services the delivery network will ultimately uplift the capability of our Clubs/volunteers, Coaches, Councils and TA teams to deliver on our long-term goals.

Reporting to the Head of Tennis Services, in this role you will:

  • Lead designated projects to support the internal TA Participation teams and their MA counterparts in building their knowledge and capability to deliver on agreed Game On strategic objectives.
  • Lead the development and delivery of agreed Workforce upskilling training to ensure the teams are suitably equipped to deliver the agreed project outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver a Participation Team Onboarding programme to ensure that all new tennis team members are clear on the systems, services and support available.
  • Form and lead agreed project task forces ensuring regular meetings, communications and reporting ensuring that focus remains on project deliverables and outcomes.
  • Identify key areas of professional development to support the requirements to deliver against key business objectives.

  • Demonstrated experience in effectively leading projects to agreed outcomes
  • An understanding of effective learning & development programmes and projects
  • Ability to critically assess process and identify opportunities to improve team and process efficiency
  • Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others on shared objectives
  • Alignment with the Tennis values of Excellence, Humility, Collaboration and Imagination
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
