Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot existing systems, including real-time machine monitoring, MES (Manufacturing Execution System), RFID, and machine vision systems.
  • Collaborate with Weir's global tech team to ensure a cohesive approach and technology integration.
  • Implement and manage big data solutions, and standardize data collection across various inputs.
  • Work with stakeholders to select and deploy appropriate equipment for digital transformation, covering sensor and control systems, robotics, predictive maintenance, machine learning, and real-time systems.
  • Evaluate and compare new and emerging technologies to enhance the Artarmon facility.
  • Show unwavering commitment to our safety culture by integrating new technologies to mitigate risks and ensure zero harm.

Job Knowledge:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Have 3-5+ years of experience in an operational tech role with hands-on involvement in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in sensor and hardware optimization for challenging environments.
  • Familiarity with real-time control systems, including object-oriented PLC programming.
  • Proficiency in a range of programming languages (Structured Text, C++, REST), with familiarity in React being advantageous.
  • Experience in implementing databases (relational and time-series) with a strong grasp of SQL.
  • Ability to create CAD models and drawings for manufacturing purposes (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Understanding of risk mitigation methods in system design.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates demonstrating the ability to meet the outlined objectives.
