Sunshine Coast, Australia Fundamental Disability Supports Full time

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with disabilities to achieve their personal goals and participate fully in their communities.

You will provide support with daily living activities, personal care, and help participants develop skills to increase their independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist participants with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support participants with household tasks, including meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Accompany participants to appointments, social activities, and community events.
  • Implement and follow personalised care plans tailored to each participants needs.
  • Administer medication and manage healthrelated tasks as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Encourage and facilitate participants participation in recreational and social activities.
  • Monitor and document participants progress and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Foster a supportive and respectful environment that promotes the dignity and independence of each participant.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualifications is preferred but not essential.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid Driver's Licence and reliable transportation.
  • National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Previous experience in disability support or a related field is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing needs and schedules.
