Role Overview:
As our Waste Education Officer, you'll collaborate closely with the kerbside collection and organics processing team to deliver and monitor direct waste education activities.
You'll play a pivotal role in implementing Council's Waste Education Strategy, focusing on targeted kerbside bin inspections and community engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and implement Council's Waste Education Strategy.
Deliver communication and education programs to promote proper waste disposal practices.
Conduct targeted kerbside bin inspections to minimize contamination and encourage positive behaviors.
Engage with residents and businesses to increase awareness of kerbside collection services.
Record and analyze findings for reporting purposes.
Facilitate tours of waste management facilities for community and school groups.
Requirements:
Qualification in communications/marketing, education, or related discipline preferred.
Demonstrated project management and community engagement skills.
Understanding of waste reduction strategies and behavior change principles.
Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Current driver's license and eligibility for Working with Children Check.
