Job Summary


The Network Engineer is an important contributor in ensuring that the Telstra network delivers a superior network experience for our consumer and business customers.

You use your telecommunications network skills and experience to contribute to specialist analysis, design, development and deployment in specific network technology domains, including how this technology inter-operates with other technologies.

About the Role

  • Test execution of agreed test plan and logging of test artefacts.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders weekly to discuss any schedule risks
  • Identifying scope creep and identification of enhancements
  • Suggest opportunities for test automation and proposing solutions for cost reduction
  • Review of Test Cases from the project requirements in discussion with Engineering
  • Liaise with vendors & engineering and have technical understanding of technology
  • Provide defect management and root cause analyses support
  • Testing in accordance with Agile or hybrid approach adopted by projects
  • Work both autonomously and as part of a team. You will demonstrate a commitment to achieving results and can work independently
  • Supporting any process automation initiatives & other engineering support activities
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of best test practices in Telstra
  • Availability for overnight travel both inter and intra state for field test trips
About You

To be successful in the role, you'll bring skills and experience in:

Essential:

  • Has at least 68 years of experience in device testing area
  • End to End process knowledge of device IOT testing cycles
  • Knowledge of 5G, 4G, IoT and emerging wireless technologies
  • Knowledge of Telstra's CAT M1 & NB-IoT network
  • Good understanding of Wireless Networking technology
  • Good understanding of JIRA
  • SDLC, Test life cycle knowhow
  • Good understanding of Agile

Highly Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Test Case Development
  • Advanced skills in device modem diagnostic tools and Wireshark
  • Knowledge of Cellular network topology and interfaces
  • Advance knowledge of debugging and analysis of diagnostics logs
  • Knowledge of field testing of mobile devices
  • Knowledge of test tools such as iPerf, QXDM, Nemo
